Did You Get a Text From Us?

Let’s find out why.

At TextMyGov, Texting is at the core of who we are and what we do. Organizations use our service to communicate with the public they serve through SMS messaging. There are several reasons you may have received a text from us or your organization.

1. You belong to a municipality or organization that uses the TextMyGov service.

TextMyGov works with:

  • Local Governments (Cities, Counties, States)
  • Police Departments
  • County Assessors
  • Housing Authorities
  • Water Districts
  • Public Works Agencies
  • Elections Department
  • Libraries
  • School Districts
  • Emergency Management Services
  • Other Organizations!

Most likely, you received a text from your organization through our service. If you received a message about road closures, trash updates, a due payment, an upcoming event, a water main break, or any other message regarding your community, the message was sent by your municipality or organization, not by TextMyGov employees.

If you have a question or concern about the message you received, please contact the organization that sent the message. To unsubscribe from these messages, reply STOP.  If you have a question or concern about the message you received, please contact the organization that sent the message. To unsubscribe from these messages, reply STOP.

TextMyGov Support is intended for paying customers only. The TextMyGov team will not be able to answer specific questions about your community and will direct you to contact the organization that sent you the message.

Pro Tip: Look at the number that sent you the message. If it has 10 digits, you can reply to the message and contact your organization directly. No need to search websites for contact numbers, just text back!

If the number only has 5 digits, this is a short code number. You cannot reply to short code numbers except to find our contact information by texting HELP or to opt-out of receiving notifications from your organization by texting STOP. Visit your organization’s website to see if they have a 10-digit number you can text. Bonus Tip: look for the TextMyGov widget on your organization’s home page to start texting or learn more!

2. You are a current customer who has signed up to receive marketing text messages.

The TextMyGov Marketing Team occasionally sends texts messages to inform existing clients of new updates, events, or promotions. We send “text-clusive” offers only available through these text messages. If you are receiving these messages and would like to unsubscribe, simply reply STOP or OPT-OUT

3. You put your number into the pop-up on our website.

TextMyGov’s website has a pop-up that lets first-time visitors type in their cellphone number and sign up for promotional text messages. If you typed your number into this pop up, you will receive promotional text messages and special offers from TextMyGov. To unsubscribe, reply STOP or OPT-OUT.

4. You have previously thought about purchasing TextMyGov.

On occasion, TextMyGov will contact those who have previously thought about purchasing TextMyGov. All cellphone numbers on this list have been voluntarily provided by the contacts themselves, or in rare cases, gathered from public information sources such as the organization’s website. The goal of these messages is to assess the organizations current interest level in purchasing the product. To stop receiving these messages, reply STOP or OPT-OUT

We encourage feedback! If you love TextMyGov or have concerns about the system, please let your organization know! We foster close relationships with the leaders of these organizations who relay your messages to us often. We are constantly working to improve our system and make communication to and from your organization as simple and effective as possible. Let us hear from you!
